Efforts underway to reinstate damaged road in North East Region
Efforts are underway to reinstate the damaged road in the North East Region following last Wednesday’s floods in the area.
The Bridge Maintenance Unit of the Ghana Highway Authority has started mobilizing to the site to construct a Bailey bridge that will serve as a diversion during the actual reconstruction of the road for permanent usage.
Also, pathways are to be constructed as a matter of urgency on sections of the road in the Mamprugu area washed away by floods.
These were disclosed when the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Roads and Highways, Hon. Stephen P. Jalulah led a team of engineers from the Ministry and the Ghana Highway Authority to assess the extent of damage to road infrastructure following a heavy downpour of rain which flooded the area.
