The construction of the PTC Roundabout Interchange in Takoradi is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed on schedule.
Currently, the project is about 20 per cent complete.
Works undertaken so far includes the drilling and casting of 57 piles out of 107. The construction of retaining walls on the Axim Road approach and pile caps at 4 locations are ongoing. The excavation and casting of blinding for retaining wall foundation and drilling of piles on the Accra Road approach are also in progress.
The Resident Engineer for the Project, Joshua Nii Moili Allotey, disclosed these when the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Attah paid a working visit to the project site yesterday.
The Minister urged the contractor to utilize working at night to ensure the project’s timely completion.
Hon. Amoako-Attah said any delay in the execution of the project would affect other ongoing road projects in Takoradi, especially the planned Paa Grant Interchange project.
The two-tier interchange is being financed through the Sinohydo Master Project Support Agreement between Ghana and the Chinese government.
